Dr. Monica Roth Day, EdD, MSW is Social Work faculty at University of Wisconsin Superior, and Chair of the Human Behavior, Justice and Diversity Department. Her collaborative work focuses on empowering students to develop into ethical and culturally-sensitive social workers through interactive coursework and community activities. Before working at UWS, she served as the Human Service Program Coordinator at Leech Lake Tribal College, Social Work Program Coordinator at the College of St. Scholastica, and Assistant Director at the Center for American Indian and Minority Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Monica served as a victim advocate and community educator for nearly 10 years at the Rape Victim Advocacy Program in Iowa City, Iowa and Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault in Duluth, Minnesota. She worked as a campus organizer with the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group in Duluth, Minnesota and currently volunteers with community groups addressing social and environmental issues.

Monica is excited to be a part of New Steps and collaborating with Russian colleagues to explore best practices in the field of social work and human services.
